End of Summer Fun
Hard to believe another summer is coming to an end. Of course it is still 90 degrees today so I may have to wait a little longer to feel that fall weather.
Before I go any further I wanted to congratulate my mommy who just accepted the permanent position of Financial Aid Director at her work. She spent 6 months "practicing" as interim director and decided to take the permanent plunge. She had no idea 2 years ago when she changed jobs this would be the path her career would be going so soon, but she is up for the challenge.
For my big news - I am now in Kindergarten!!!!!!! I have spent 8 days in class and really enjoy it. Mrs. Basen and Mrs. King are really nice teachers and seem to not mind the craziness that a room full of kindergarteners can bring! I lucked out and met a boy, Ryan, during "meet the teacher" so I felt like I already had a friend when class started. We play together and eat lunch together. There are only 17 kids in my class which seems tiny after 25 kids in my daycare class. After school I go to the cafeteria for after school care where we get lots of playground and game time.
The school uses a green, yellow, red behavior system plus blue for super good days. A few of the chatty girls have already gotten red. Despite my love of talking, I've had only green days since I started and got a BLUE on Friday for helping a classmate. We have a pet turtle in the class which is neat. I got to bring home a flip camera to film a 3 minute video of my house which I thought was so cool.
I get to do a "related art" each day and really look forward to it - technology, library, PE, art, and music. We also have a smartboard in our classroom! For those who don't know what that is think of it as the 2012 version of a projector with transparencies. I get to buy my lunch when I think it looks good and I've already memorized my 6 digit lunch code. For those who know my mom, you would not be surprised to know she is always happy when I want to buy lunch and she doesn't have to think of what to pack.
Because the bus comes so early my mommy drops me off at school every morning. This allows me to wake up at the time I would have to be out at the bus stop. The school is only 2 miles from our house so it would be silly to get up so early. After the first week I was being dropped at the curb like all the big kids (it made mommy sad). I love being able to unbuckle and sit in the seat waiting for our turn on the curb. I already have my sights on being a "safety patrol monitor" when I am bigger and helping to direct traffic like the older kids.
I'll let the pictures show what we've been up to the last couple of months....

| We've spent several weekends at the lake near Gramma and Grampa's house. Using the floating chairs to get out far enough to wave surf is so much fun. |
