Charleston
We had a great long weekend in Charleston! Though when asked what my favorite thing was I said "Dora" - the DVD mommy got out of the library for the car ride. Don't worry, I had fun at the other things too.

I guess the highlight was the beach! I learned how fun it was to jump waves and stayed in the water until exhaustion wouldn't let me stand up anymore. I had a REALLY good nap the first day in Charleston after spending all morning at the beach! We had so much fun we cancelled our horse carriage tour to spend another morning at the beach. It was just as fun the second time...maybe more because the waves were HUGE. I really wanted one of those boogie board things. Mommy said I should learn how to swim first.
Our hotel ended up being in a great location and a great first priceline bid experience for Mommy. We were right on the water and able to see all the boats going by. Only 10 min to downtown Charleston and only 15 min to the beach and mini-golf. It was paradise! I made sure to wake up bright & early today so we could enjoy a walk on the marina bridges and see the sun come up.
There are lots of pictures below that will show our fun times.
Less than 2 weeks until we head to New England. I can't stop talking about visiting "my family" so I hope they are ready for me!
Charleston Harbor
View from our hotel room (US Yorktown)
My new pet....I don't know why he didn't show up after the first day. Daddy said he just "relocated" him
A swim before bed
Whoa - big wave coming!
So excited to be wave jumping (can you believe it was only April when I was scared to death of the beach)?
The waves were ROUGH when we arrived....so much fun! (and proof Mommy was on the trip since she is never in the pics....or never posts any of the pics of her!)
I was in awe of the two story aquarium until the scuba diver swam over and waved at me. It was SCARY
Touching a starfish!
That starfish paled in comparison to touching a baby alligator! I thought he was "scratchy"
I was a little concerned these penguins would get out, they were right at my eye level
Chatting with the locals on the way into the Aquarium. The bridge in the background reminded us of the Skyway in Tampa. I loved driving over it!
One night we brought back subs and ate on the deck of our hotel. We saw HUGE boats go by and I got to chase seagulls.
My first boatride was a water taxi from hotel to downtown Charleston. I didn't think it went fast enough.
Battery Park had tons of fun cannons to climb. It was really windy because a storm was blowing in.
I surprised my parents by how well I can climb. I have no fear anymore (okay, well not as much)
My first attempt at skeeball. I am going to have to keep practicing, it was harder than bowling!
Staying up late to mini golf was REALLY worth it. There were tons of ramps, water traps and frogs!
The pizza at Mellow Mushroom was delicious. My parents think there was something in it though as I was crazy silly signing along to all the songs the radio was playing.
I hear that Grampy Doug rode in one of these. I can't wait to tell him I saw this docked near our hotel! We took an early morning walk over to see the USS Yorktown. While we didn't take the tour, see how close we could get on our hotel docks!
First attempt at hula hulooping. We went to a street festival in York, SC. My favorite was the petting zoo and the blues grass band.
I was the only kid willing to try milking the cow. With a little assistance I did it twice. Glad I didn't have to do that to get my sippy of milk though...it takes a while!
This pony's owner let me help brush.

Counting backwards. I practice this skill A LOT......imagine my delight when the sailboats for College of Charleston were numbered....Mommy was worried I would never leave my counting heaven.....

Yes I can use the computer by myself (and I insist on it). Am I destined to be a computer geek? Or maybe just a sign of kids born in 2000's?
