August 2009

It has been a really full month of activities. The highlight was a visit from Aunt Lizzy who made Charlotte a stop on her summer tour across America before she returns to Italy. We had to get creative on the activities we choose though because she brought the rain with her. 5 days of rain after a long long dry spell. I'll always remember her as the Aunt who let me "bounce bounce bounce" on the bed!

We took a quick trip across the state to visit our friends the Myers. We spent the day visiting and I got to try out all their fun toys. It sure was nice to see them.

We spend most of our weekends at the water park/amusement park now that our summer heat is here (100 last week). I love splashing around and only stop when I am too exhausted to move. I guess I'm getting bigger because I went on a ride all by myself instead of chickening out. Of course, Mommy forgot she had the camera with her so you'll just have to take my word (it was an airplane ride that went up & down).

September is shaping up to be a busy month. We're going to spend Labor Day weekend in Charleston and then have a New England roadtrip planned so I can meet my Hare family and spend some time in Maine. Except for the 17 hour car trip each way, I bet it will be a great time. Daddy says I have "cosins" who will play with me (hint hint). I bet they will like my soccer kicking skills.

I'm so happy to tell you that my Daddy passed another insurance course. He now only has 4 left to get his designation. He has found out that his company will pay for him & Mommy to attend a conference to get the designation in Las Vegas so he has new motivation to finish quickly!

Mommy is in her super busy time at work (something about kids who want their college money) so I won't be seeing her for dinner much the next couple of weeks. August is always a stressful month for her, but at least she has me to come home to!
Today we walked down to the beach near Bampa & Gramma's house. I did NOT talk about "water toes" and in fact marched right into the water. Of course Mommy hadn't put me in my bathing suit since she assumed I wouldn't go anywhere near it. Next time I'm swimming in that water for sure.

Enjoy the pics & videos.

I spent a LONG time on this swing. Poor Daddy's arms must have been pooped from my requests to go higher & higher

My first try at "rock climbing"

Looking for the perfect seashells

What? Are you surprised to see me on a beach so close to water?

Building sand castles - I found it a lot more fun to make mud puddles

Yup, I'm no longer stuck in that baby highchair. I eat at the table with a little help from a booster seat. I am a LOT more willing to hang around the table now that I don't have a tray I can take on & off, on & off. Mom's latest free craiglist score. I really am starting to get the feeling she is hoping I'll win a college golf scholarship by giving me so many ways to practice!Wow - trampolines are awesome! Aleksei is going to have to let me come over and play on it again because I haven't been able to convince my parents this would be a fun addition to the house This is as close as I would get most of the day to the Myer's fun slide. I eventually got my toes wet, but really that was only because I wanted to shoot a basket in the hoop
What? Doesn't everyone play in the sand with just a diaper on?
On TV with Aunt Lizzy at the children's museum
Shopping with Aunt Lizzy. This was my favorite exhibit at the children's museum
Sprinkler man! Aunt Lizzy & I spent a lot of time playing in the sprinkler and taking pictures
Practicing my tennis skills
Of course I had to take Aunt Lizzy bowling. We both beat Mommy!
I am VERY excited that Mommy got a laptop. This is now "Cole's Computer" and I make sure everyone knows that. Trying to stomp out the water Don't be fooled by this picture. The water barely touched me. I'm so dramatic!
Pointing to the HUGE bucket dumping water. This is as close as I like to get. I love to try and stop the water (and end up with a lot of water in my face)!

Checking for sturdiness before we start I FINALLY found the confidence to actually ride a horse!
