2009 Snow

Hello from snowy Charlotte! We woke up to a white lawn this morning. What fun! The best part was my school and mommy's school was closed so we got to stay home and play outside. While I wasn't convinced I needed to play in the white stuff, I enjoyed stomping around in it once I got out there. We went out before and after breakfast and it is a good thing because now it has all melted away. Parts of Charlotte got 6 inches, but we only ended up with an inch.

It has been a quiet January while we recooperate from the holidays. Last weekend I went bowling for the first time and boy was it fun! I loved rolling the ball down the lane, but I need a lesson in sportsmanship because I kept yelling "miss" when other people rolled their balls! The place was packed so no action shots I'm afraid.

I've heard that today is inauguration, but I couldn't be convinced it was better than Backyardigans so Mommy had to tape the swearing in ceremony to watch later. I keep hearing they will remind me of this when I'm older!

I'm supposed to be napping so I better cut it short.

Not quite sure what to think of it, and definiteley no idea how to walk in boots
Making snow muffins
A butterfly net just like Pablo's (Backyardigans)
In addition to my quest to become a Red Sox, I'm now preparing to take on Tiger Woods
Finally - glasses to wear so I don't have to steal Mommy's
Not quite sure what to think of sponge paint
I am now in charge of setting the table. Please note the crumpled up napkin on the right side and my choice of location for the coaster and fork. Hey, at least it is all on the table!

Happy New Year everyone! I hope your 2009 brings lots of happiness, snacks and fun. It has been really busy week around here. Aunt Lizzy, Bampa and Grandma came to stay with us and we sure did keep them busy. Highlights included a trip to see Mommy's work, Christmas Eve dinner at Japanese steakhouse (I like to immitate the cooks - "chop chop chop"), a trip to Lazy 5 ranch to the animals, lots of walks to find the Mickey Mouse christmas decorations, and of course lots of being spoiled by all the attention!

New Years Eve day we met up with our good friends Brooke, Paul, Katia & Aleksei at the NC Zoo. We had a great time checking out all of the animals and visiting.

I know refer to myself in the third person. I am "Dole" and I am making it known that I don't need a lot of help (well at least I think I don't need help) when accomplishing tasks.

I'll let the pictures tell most of the story.

Sharing my snack with Moosey

I found Bampa!
Showing Aunt Lizzy how to play computer games

Ready for Santa!
Whoa - it is a house just like the Griswalds. I see why they were written up in the paper. Santa leaned in my window and gave me a candy cane
Santa came! Handing out the gifts

Helping Daddy with the ironing

Taking a break from presents to decorate a gingerbread house. I got to dictate where everything was placed. I think I spent as much time trying to eat the gummies as I did actually helping to decorate

The finished product (yes of course the backyardigans had to be included)

I LOVED the Little People nascar set that Grammy sent. However the people are NOT allowed to sit in the cars when it is turned on because I worry they will get hurt by falling out

Let's be honest, my favorite gift was the papertowel roll that a shirt came in. I took a long break from presents to play pirate

I was a little scared of my new race car

Trying out my new basketball

Painting in the tub with Aunt Lizzy - I love my new paints

I spent a lot of Christmas week doing sticker books. It is my new addiction

Grandma & Bampa have FINALLY heard that their house will begin getting built in January. They will be in Charlotte by next fall!
Feeding the buffalo
Whoa - big giraffe
A "monkey"!
Elephants! (Katia, Aleksei & Cole)
This guy was a little more my size
Eggs just like in one of my favorite Backyardigan episodes
Trying to fly back to see the monkeys
Lions!
Another "monkey"

We boys were not so happy to have to stay behind the wood rail

Practicing for my spot on the Red Sox (note that I chose to bat lefty)....
