A New House!

It has been quite a week in the Hare household. Our biggest news is we bought a house! We submitted the offer on father's day and after some back and forth it was ours! It is in the subdivision we wanted (community pool!) and the house is on a cul-de-sac street. It is a 4 bedroom, 2 bath with way more room than we need downstairs. We'll have some empty rooms for years! Lots of pics below. My parents say we didn't get a huge backyard, but the inside makes up for it. I think we're moving in August 15th. We hope you will all visit us over the years.
Charlotte is so much fun!

I did end up taking Daddy to a North Charlotte park Father's Day weekend. What a fun place. They have a train, carasoul, petting zoo, aquarium, water sprayers, ducks, picnic areas and playgrounds galore. My parents say we can go back when it is cooler so I can enjoy the HUGE playground. I had another ear infection this week, but they caught it early so it hasn't affected me too much. Mommy and I seem to have the same cold that won't go away. I've been keeping my parents hoping during the nights when my coughing keeps me awake. I seem to be over the worst.

Bamma & Bampa just left after a whirlwind visit. They had to pick out all the insides for their new townhouse that they hope will be built by May 2009. I have promised to take my shovel over to their property to start digging if the contractors don't start soon.
Not sure what our upcoming plans will be. I see a lot of trips to Home Depot in my future as we get ready to move into our new house (mid-August).

Stay cool in this summer heat. Enjoy the pics.
I hope they leave the rocking chair

Backyard. Just picture it with all my toys strewn around

The hill is bigger than it looks in this pic

My new room (it's nicer in person)

Living room - or what I like to call my playroom since Mommy has no idea what furniture to put in here
Great room off the kitchen
Kitchen
Bonus room - will be our guest room for now since Mommy says I am too little to play upstairs by myself.

I was a little unsure about the train at the park
But once I saw all the animals (fake) I started to really enjoy it. The ride was a little short. What else do I expect for $0.50 though?!
This park had fish too. And way too snakes.
The steering wheel on this playground came with a train.
The entire playground had a sand base. I was in heaven!
First picnic. I think I like picnics, though Mommy doesn't seem to like dirt! I don't think camping is in my future.
I found all sorts of sticks after lunch
This park had ducks too! I wanted to take the paddle boat for a closer look, but my parents thought that might be a little too close for comfort!
We got hail this week. Didn't have any of that in Florida!

First time in the new sandbox. So much fun! I don't know why my parents didn't put more sand in it. So what if we're moving in 2 months and this sandbox is on a 2nd floor patio. They can carry all that sand down!

Learning how to shuck corn

Trying to escape with my find
Eating corn on the cob for the first time. I actually ate it! (Mommy said that was a big deal).

19 Months

Hi everyone. Can you believe I’m 19 months old now? Summer has arrived in Charlotte! Record temps of 100 degrees this past weekend. I miss my daily walks to see the ducks, but it is just too darn hot!

Since I last posted I've started drinking from a cup! I get to practice at the end of each meal. So much fun! I also eat all my meals on a plate. I mean really, why did it take them so long? Did they really think I would throw it on the floor?

Daycare is going well. I still love my teachers Ms. Mandy & Ms. Kayla. I think Ms. Kayla has a soft spot for me as she will always pick me up when I ask! I love eating there and even eat mushy fruit. Why won't I eat fruit at home you ask? I just don't feel like it! Friday is water day where we get to run through sprinklers. Too bad I have a fear of any water not in my bath tub!

I have convinced Daddy that for Fathers Day we should go to a park I heard about North of Charlotte where they have a train, fishes, petting zoo and playgrounds. Sounds like fun! I'm sure I'll have pictures to post.

Mommy was FINALLY able to get some videos of me. She says she has been trying for MONTHS. I don't know why she can't. So what if every time she tries I run over to see what is on the camera!

Enjoy the pics & videos.

I don't know why other kids love wading pools. I could not be convinced it wasn't scary. This was as close as I would get.

Found another neat swing at another park. This swing made Mommy nervous. She thought it needed a bar to hold me in.
I LOVED the zipline. Really gives the biceps a good workout (mine & Daddy's!)
I don't want any help on the slides now. I can't stop saying "ooooohhhh" when I find a slide.
This park has ducks too! They swam right up to me (well maybe it was really the fishermen!)
We took a walk to the other side of the lake. I'm TRYING to get a closer look at the geese.
Trying out sidewalk chalk. It is fun!
Going back for more chalk. I think I liked taking the chalk in & out of the box just as much as I liked using it
Right after this picture I sat in all my chalk art. I had chalk dust from head to toe! Check out my snazzy sandals. My mom sure is an Ebay addict!
I eat off a plate now. I'm so grown up!

One of my favorite things to do is help unload the dishwasher. I only run into the living room with a few items each time.
Trying out my new magnets on a cookie sheet. And once I was done with the magnets, the cookie sheet made a great drum!
I think I like doing magnets on the fridge better.

Helping Mommy write the weekly grocery list. I'm not sure why she says she can't read it once I've "helped"
Art is still one of my favorite things to do. These "kid" paints got awfully messy though. I think Mommy is going to write a letter to Crayola.

Here I am enjoying 52 card pick up....
