May Fun

Can you believe it is the end of May already? I'll be 19 months very shortly. I started daycare yesterday and it went pretty well. I pointed at the door a lot implying I was ready to go home, but I wasn't crying my eyes out like the other kids. I really like my new teacher, Miss Mandy. She is very enthusiastic and gives stickers at the end of the day!!! I get to sit at a real table to eat which is fun. All the ladies at the front desk already know my name. What can I say, I'm a cutie.

We had a nice relaxing Memorial Day weekend. I went to 2 parks and have realized that sandboxes are my new favorite thing. I can spend at least a hour just dumping dirt in a bucket. What fun! We also took the train Uptown to visit a NASCAR street festival. Despite the rain (which wasn't predicted) we had a great time getting LOTS of freebies and doing lots of people watching. I even got to eat some of Daddy's sausage dog. Yum!

Enjoy the pics.
Chasing the frisbee (at a grassy area in our subdivision)
I've got it!
I think this is how Daddy threw it.
Look - Mommy got me lemons & limes to play with
I loved sorting them
DUCKS!!!!!! (at a local park)
The duck came up for a closer look. I think he was hoping I had some snacks to share.
Chasing the duck. I'm not sure why he doesn't want to play.
Daddy was worried I was going to follow the duck into the water
Bye-bye - I'm heading off to lands far away. A fun Memorial Day in the park.
Hmmm....how do I get out of here?
Giddy up purple dino
Dreaming that I am driving a big boat
I am finally starting to understand why everyone loves the swings
I love slides. This one is just my size.
My new favorite activity is digging in the sand. Usually as soon as I pull out my bucket a dozen kids come over to play with me.
I love all the fountains downtown
Enjoying the downtown park before it rained
Waiting out the rain
Nope, still don't like those dressed up characters
The street festival was fun, but I am pooped!

Zoo Adventures

I took mom & dad to the Columbia zoo for an early mother's day. It was SOOO much fun, despite the heat! We got there early so we were able to avoid most of the crowds. Of course the aquarium section was my favorite. But I also really liked the elephants, flamingos and any birds I could call ducks. I also kept trying to get the giraffes to pick me up. Not sure why they didn't come closer. The zoo will only be about a hour away when we move this summer so I see lots of zoo trips in my future.

I had my 18 month doctors visit a couple weeks ago. I now weigh 23 lbs, 8 oz (still 25th percentile). I am 32" tall (45th percentile). My head is still huge at 50 cms (95th percentile). I really liked my new doctor and only cried a little at my shots.

We've been busy house hunting and will be going to see a few more houses on Friday. Haven't found "THE HOUSE" yet.

Bamma & Bampa & dodgy Reba came to visit last week on their way North for the summer. We had a fun couple of days going for walks and out to eat. They are all settled back in Maine now for the summer. I hear that Mommy & Grandma got up at 5:30am one day and went to a Britax carseat warehouse sale. They waited in line with hundreds of others and were able to get me a spare carseat and UCONN carseat covers! Mommy was a little disappointed that she didn’t have to elbow anyone out of the way J

Mommy & I went strawberry picking again. It was just as much fun as the first time. Only this time I realized I could EAT the berries. Of course I forgot after each berry I didn't like the taste so had to keep tasting!

Enjoy the pics....

Watching the penguins get fed

A train just my size Giraffes!
Bampa - You will be happy to know I HATED the snakes

Bears - I wasn't sure what to think of them fighting. A little scary.
I can find ducks anywhere

OOOOOH - is what I kept saying in the fishy exhibit
Intent on watching the fish

FLAMINGOS!
Ooooh - elephants

I kept using the box as my chair. I think Mommy & Daddy finally got the hint....
Finally - a chair of my very own
