Easter 2008 Adventures

Hope everyone had a great Easter! We've just returned from a visit to Florida with Grandma & Grampa. It was a 10 hour drive each way plus time for stops, etc. I don't think my parents are willing to drive farther than that with me for a long, long time! I was actually a good traveler except for a couple cranky periods. Thankfully a friend loaned us a DVD player for the car so "The Backyardigains" were brought out during the hardest (aka whineiest) of moments.

We began our visit with an egg hunt in downtown visit. The rain held off enough to let us fit in the egg hunt. It was so much fun picking up eggs. I even did the "YMCA" and "Bunny Hop" with Grandma and the other kids.

Sunday the Easter Bunny came! and we hit the beach despite cool overcast skies. I'll let the pictures tell the story.

The rest of the week was spent having golf cart rides, meals around town, a storytime at the local library, and of course celebrating Grampa's birthday. My parents said it felt weird to be back in Venice. That it already feels like we've been gone for years.

I've been a little fussier than usual with my eye teeth working their way out. I have 2 in and 2 to go. I actually stopped eating for a few days it hurt so much :(. At least this should be it for a while.

The only other "milestone" is that I stopped having a nighttime sippycup before bed. I kept leaking through my diaper so we stopped cold turkey. It's been 2 weeks now so I think we can call it a success.

Enjoy the pics.
Maybe if I don't look at him the Easter Bunny will go away? As you can tell, I was NOT interested in a picture with the bunny.
That little girl ended up "stealing" a couple of the eggs I was planning to pick. Gotta watch out for those girls!
Found another! I ended up with a dozen eggs and I won a bunny from one of the local stores.

The Easter Bunny came! I'm an old pro at egg hunts now.
How do I get into these?
CAUGHT! I was almost able to eat that chocolate egg.
The Easter Bunny left a couple gifts too.
Checking out Venice Beach. Turns out that I am not destined to be a beach bum. I hated the sand. Daddy is trying to convince me that sand castles are fun.
GET THE SAND OFF MY FEET GRANDMA
At least the beach had birds!

After only 4 months in Charlotte I've already forgotten what fun swimming was. I couldn't be convinced that I should get in the water. I cried and cried.
Practicing for Carnegie Hall
Ready for baseball season.
I still don't like swings
Remember this frog? (7 months old)

Look at me now! I'm an old pro

March 2008

We've just returned from Myrtle Beach. I had a great time despite the cold and WINDY weather. Daddy was able to join us every evening for dinner and a little walking around the tourist spots. During the day, Mommy and me went to the beach, shopping, and met up with a co-worker of hers from when she worked at the bank in Myrtle Beach.

On the way home we visited the Myers. I had a great time playing with all the new toys. Aleksei and I "shared" train pieces during most of my visit.

16 month accomplishment - I am beginning to test climbing. Today I climbed a package of paper towel rolls and the footstool. YIKES! Pictures to follow in the next blog update.

I've included a few pictures from our visit to the History Museum. My parents thought I would enjoy the wood toys from the 1700's because we could actually play with them. They were WRONG. I was SO SCARED. They made so much noise.

I'm still catching up on my sleep from 4 days of little naps so I'm going to end here.

It didn't take long for my toys to take over the hotel room.
Dinner at Johnny Rockets. Did you know they sing to you? Such fun!
Enjoying a snack in the hotel lobby We walked around Barefoot Landing before dinner. It was COLD. But I saw lots of ducks, a swan, and seagulls.

I had pretty good sleeps in Myrtle Beach I have got to find more seagulls
Wow - lots of seagulls (or as I call them "ducks")
YIKES - they are chasing me
I let Mommy drag me to the outlets one morning

Broadway At The Beach playground before dinner
Why am I not going anywhere?
Wow - too many stuffed animals. Where do I start?
Getting in out of the cold at the Disney Store

Me & Aleksei. A rare moment where both of us where stopped in one place!
They have a bunny!
Sharing a goldfish snack.
Checking out Aleksei's toys
Relaxing in the Myers' playroom while Aleksei shows me the playhouse
Practicing my walking at the history museum. We arrived a tad early and had to wait for it to open.
The only time I enjoyed the wood toys.

Can you believe it? A street named after me!
